Of course, now I'm concerned about the local raptors swooping down. There is a neighborhood Red Tailed Hawk who likes to perch on my old tv antenna.

My boys check it every night and perform rescues if needed. My next house expense is going to be window well covers.

I've been seeing a half-grown bunny in my yard lately. I had no idea that, in addition to clover, they will eat bird seed tossed out of the feeder on to the ground by greedy little chickadees and tufted titmice hunting for the sunflower seeds in the mix.

That reminds me, I've not had rabbit in a coon's age. Saw some frozen at the grocery store and it was 20 bucks for not much meat.

Even after the "circle of life" took care of a few, we still have at least four regularly trying to eat through our garden fence to get to the goodies.

So now the veg garden fencing is reinforced with even more, higher up chicken wire! So far, my reinforcements have held. This little furball seems satisfied with what is growing in the yard. And, if he wants to munch on some herbs, they have taken off and grown so abundant, this year, there's plenty, now, to share.

and we have 2 regular visitors, a cotton tail and a jack rabbit. I take out the vegetable trimmings for them each morning, but I put them in the shade where they have a little cover, we've got hawks too.

Now that we are overrun with rabbits that eat everything in sight, not so much.

I see one big one, in my back lot, and little Clover. Of course, I realize that 'Little Clover' could be any number of little bunnies, in the area. I'm probably just choosing to delude myself into believing it's just the one, so that I don't have to come up with more names. Fortunately my veg garden is well protected, and my herb garden is thriving to the point, I'd welcome the little guy to some nibbles. They never bothered any of my flowers.

But I can never get close enough to take an identifiable photo. They will just sit there, very still, thinking I can't see them! I agree, they are adorable! Kudos that you can now get so close!
