Online support forums for Adult Carers?

I know there are some DU'ers who are in position as being carers for a parent that is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's? I underestimated the toll that this can have on one, and seeing your parent mentally slip away. Are there any online support forums that you recommend?

Hospice was a "lifesaver" for the immediate family caregivers of my father with dementia.

I have no source for you but know that you need support... I have cared for my Father for the last year and half... he just passed Monday afternoon after refusing food 3 weeks ago and then water for a few days before he passed. Dementia is so difficult for all involved... please take care of yourself in any way that you are able

There may be some helpful info there, or they can point you in the direction you need. Best of luck, it isn't easy.

gotten through it without the Caregivers Forum of the Alzheimer's Association. I haven't visited there in several years, but I know they kept me sane and sometimes I felt they actually kept me alive.

All the best to you in this grueling time. There is help from fellow caregivers in the trenches.
