(62,448 posts)I have so many questions but may I ask one?
Do you know the donor? Do you feel a special connection?
Stories like this really lift my spirits!

(2,959 posts)I was candidate #3 for this kidney. The donor was a homosexual who had been in a monogamous relationship for 14 years. I am not sure if the other two turned the kidney down due to his lifestyle, but I was more than tickled to get it. I got the impression from the surgeon it did have an impact. My gain.
I have kidded that he must have loved pineapple 🍍 because I developed a taste for it.

We had a liver party for a friend of mine who got a new one. I am happy your kidney is treating you well.
