Dennis Miller is hosting on Turner Classic Movies!?!!?

I didn't recognize him, at first, because he wasn't using that annoying smarmy voice, while introducing the movie. I wonder if he's going through another career metamorphoses.

Tonight is Rodan and then The Black Scorpion.

I think they are bringing in a whole lot of people for hosting stints.

Not sure if this is a one night gig, or what. I'm a big Ben Mankiewicz fan so unless it is him or Alec Baldwin, I'm a little disappointed. But tonight I was a little shocked.

Especially the bits him and Al Franken did together.

HBO never gave away stand-up specials to "washed" up comedians. lol His Black & White special is still one of my favorites from that era.

Most people say Miller isn't funny now b/c he switched political parties, I just haven't seen any comedy specials to show see if he has a funny side.

I never go into Seinfeld or his humor, and thought he was overpaid...

On Edit: Al Franken wasn't all that funny either, but I like him as a Senator.

He was always unfunny with the strained cultural references as a trademark "thing," but he had a thorough personality shift, which is not a good sign of mental health. He also has some noticeable tremors in his hands and face. Something's not right with him.

His brand of humor wore very thin, very fast, for me.

I swear I remember a time when Dennis Miller was quite witty; as I recall, it was 9/11 that sent him into the rabid repuke abyss

Maybe back in the late '90s or early 2000s. Lost my taste for his brand of humor when he went way off to the right.

This pig virus is commenting on Classic films like King Kong??!!! Time to cancel my TCM! Time to start a drive to cancel TCM unless they flush this Miller turd down the tubes. If we can't get Miller tossed from TCM then what chance do we have of tossing president cancer out of our White House?

His intro to the first film wasn't bad -but by the time he got to the second film, his wheels started coming off of the rails, again.

does this smug and insufferable SOB know about classic films? It's hosts like Miller that are causing viewers to fear that TCM is turning slowly toxic.

Mediocre entertainment career, dabble in politics a bit, host a lame TV show, then on to national politics!

Reagan made a few movies, most rather unremarkable.
Was head of the Screen Actors Guild IIRC.
Hosted Death Valley Days TV show.
Gov of CA
President.

Can we expect a big knock-down brawl between Miller and Ben Mankiewicz?

Ben's one of my two favourites on TYT (along with John Iadarola), and I can't imagine he's too please with Dennis Miller being around
