It's been snowing in my area since about 10 pm and my bones & joints are sore I can hardly move. We are supposed to get up to a foot although I doubt it. What's it like where you live?

(16,388 posts)He comes home for the summer on the 10th. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and the weather had a little bit of everything. I enjoy visiting WI.

(891 posts)I can second the cold dampness here yesterday. I have a medical situation which mandates a fair amount of bedrest and on some days I would rather be outdoors, but then there are days like yesterday.

(111,367 posts)Temperature in the 40s. Just foggy now, no snow, but I imagine the high peaks to the east will have white whiskers tomorrow.
People downstream need to look out. Any storm with enough energy to drop rain in the desert tends to turn nasty as it moves east.

(7,584 posts)we were supposed to get the snow you are getting...but so far nothing...we had a 40 degree drop in temperature..below freezing here now and colder than the dickens. I also have old bones and a drop in temperature like this is killing me.....I can't get warm.

(16,388 posts)That's what I am doing and it's helping. As soon as I got home from work, 10:30 p.m., I took two Tramodol and those are kicking in now, Hot baths help too. Good luck. Low pressure kills me and it doesn't matter the season.

(7,584 posts)I finally started to warm up but it doesn't help these old bones move any faster.

(25,908 posts)Large, wet flakes. The ground wasn't cold enough to keep the snow, so it's pretty much all gone.
I don't know if my snow would have been the same system you're experiencing.
Laffy Kat
(16,388 posts)Our ground has been pretty warm lately as well. It is currently 27 F here presently and it's sure sticking now.
PoindexterOglethorpe
(25,908 posts)If its below freezing, snow will stick. If above, the snow won't last. At the same time, tree branches or leaves will tend to be the same as the air temperature, so snow will stick to those, at least for a while.

(206,247 posts)And it's finally gotten warmer here. It seemed like everytime Spring was here, we got hit with yet another snowstorm. So sorry that it's hitting you again now. I have family in Colorado and I know the weather is very changeable.

(5,738 posts)A few late frosts, brilliant sunshine, an occasional April shower.
I'm in Colorado but in the Grand Valley on the Western Slope - in other words, Shangri La!
(Now, if only the economy matched the weather!)

(41,867 posts)It seeps into the area, seeps into your house, seeps on to your skin and inside you and its cold and damp. Being cold is one thing, but being damp (humidity) and cold is just the worst. You can wrap blankets around you but some how it finds its way into the blanket, and again, you are just chilled to the bone. And this is all summer, where across the bay in Concord, it might be 115 degrees with no humidity.

(16,388 posts)I've only been to SF one time many years ago. What a beautiful and interesting city. There was fog one morning while I was visiting, yet it burned off quickly. I have been in thick fog many times in CO and it is a lonely feeling if you're alone. The difference in the way sound resonates is eerie. Usually though, around here it's rarely humid which I like 'cause I'm so vane and it makes my hair look awful.

(63,221 posts)It was that combination of cold and damp - you just couldn't get warm. But then I would go up to my sister's house in Sonoma and it would be dry and 90 degrees. And sometimes the fog would be so thick you could barely see past the end of your hand.
Then again, there would be sunny, dry days in February where it would be 60 to 70 degrees every day.

(41,867 posts)in the Summer and Spring is foggy most of the time. Than again, it will be 55 degrees here while 115 across the bay.

(63,221 posts)A little cooler and overcast today. I wouldn't mind it so much, but they haven't turned on the AC in my building yet and I can't sleep in a room unless it's cold. I have a fan, but it has still been a little too warm for me to sleep well.

(17,087 posts)Did some yardwork yesterday thinning out some trees and trimming branches in light rain and corn snow showers. Friends up in Montrose said they got two inches this morning. Lawn is knee high in places but I guess I can wait a little more to cut it.

so, I'm glad I waited a bit. That washi-in treatment is rather $$$.
Frankly, though, I'd rather have spring snow than days of heavy rain... the latter makes me gloomy as the weather.

(16,388 posts)It's sticking on the grass although the streets are still only wet. I was so uncomfortable last night I don't think I slept at all. At least I don't have anything to do today, which never happens. I'll try to nap.

(7,584 posts)in the mountains..it started snowing here about 3am and it is a heavy, wet snow. It is not suppose to end until tomorrow morning......plus the wind is starting to blow now and looking pretty miserable outside. So thankful me and my little puppy are comfortable and warm.

I can't imagine what July's going to be like.
