(16,829 posts)I must have been in some weird position which put a lot of my body weight on top of my arm because I woke up with pain in my upper arm, and I was fine when I went to bed. It hurts to raise my arm over my head.
How do you injure yourself sleeping!?

(16,402 posts)And why not? Nobody I know sleeps in the same position all night.
Me, I'm all over the place, a restless sleeper and a thrasher since childhood. Covers routinely end up on the floor so that I wake up cold. I might start out on one side or the other, or on my stomach; however, I always wake up on my back, usually more than once during the night.
So how about an "all of the above" choice, huh? Huh? Huh?

He already has new hips.

(70,742 posts)Oh, did I forget to mention weird dreams - with lots of ghost family & others?!1 The deceased ones almost never have speaking roles, are just shades. Main dreams are of the obsessive/repetitive-task type.

(20,215 posts)I start out on my left side, but switch to my right and sometimes I wake up on my back with my arms and legs spread out like a starfish. Yes, I am single.

(9,290 posts)I constantly change positions.
The only constants are that I need a pillow between my legs (and to "hug" and that I don't sleep on my stomach.

(10,109 posts)I flip and flop all night. One morning after clean sheets tucked in and everything I woke the next morning to find my sheets almost all on the floor. I do NOT want to ever see a video of me sleeping. Maybe that's why my cat is off some where else snoozing away peacefully.
Peace

(3,275 posts)My two kittens sleep on me at night. Last night, one slept on my legs and the other slept in the crook of my arm. The other night I slept on my side with one kitten behind my knees and the other up against my back. I think that the 3rd row 4th or 5th picture in would be the most comfortable positions to me. Sleeping on my stomach is definitely not an option because my chest gets in the way.
