What I always said to my kids was, "Patience, young grasshopper" because that's how I remember it. It was the old teacher saying it to the boy.

The reason I ask is because this phrase was used in a book for young adults about 5 years ago. The teen boy says it to a friend. I found issue with it as I just didn't think he would be old enough to remember where the phrase came from. I guess it's possible his parents said it to him but it seemed odd to think a teen would say it to a friend.

I nit pick sometimes!
