I just saw one of the weirdest ads I've ever seen. It was for Trojan condoms, and the guy in the ad is congratulating himself for still being on his best behavior 3 months into the relationship, explaining this to the girlfriend by saying, "I still haven't passed gas in front of you."
What a guy.

(17,235 posts)I would actually NOT buy a product with a wierd commercial. What can these advertising agencies and executive management be thinking?

(20,581 posts)what they are advertising.
The toilet paper and bear ads are pretty strange too.

(20,581 posts)because they don't have to change their underwear every day anymore since the toilet paper is so good. The mother bear is very happy about this. Everyone is clean now!!!

(24,005 posts)... for toilet paper, feminine hygiene products of all kinds, constipation and diarrhea ads, and erectile dysfunction ads.
There are any number of products I do not buy because their ads are so stupid. This is one of them.

(118,677 posts)are going for commercials that get remembered because they make you feel uncomfortable. I mean look at the skittles commercial where the red haired boy has skittles pox all over him and the girl takes one candy off him and puts it in her mouth. Yuck. Ewe! You also see a lot more red haired men which I guess it out of the ordinary so they stand out. There is even a Hyundai commercial in Canada where the American, Japanese and German exaggerated CEOS of car companies are doing industrial espionage against Hyundai to figure out "how'd they do it!". At one point the exaggerated American CEO says "WE'VE BEEN TRUMPED!!!". So it seems reminding people with any emotion out of place in a commercial is the order of the day with ad agencies. Anything to get your product name remembered.
