Writing in Salon Magazine, Amanda Marcotte said:
"It's an established fact: President Donald Trump is a shameless, relentless liar.
He rarely makes it through a public appearance without uttering deliberate, outrageous falsehoods.
Lies defined his campaign, creating a cottage industry of journalists listing and even cataloging his lies.
Now that he's in office, the relentless lying has continued and may have even increased, creating a real crisis for publications that want to keep track of them all, since the sheer volume of his lies tests the capabilities of even the most well-funded news organizations."

From "Trump's Lies vs. Your Brain" by Maria Konnikova writes:
"All presidents lie...But Donald trump is in a different category...The sheer frequency, spontaneity and seeming irrelevance of his lies have no precedence."

My favorite Donald trump lie was one that I didn't see in any newspaper or magazine.
It was a lie about something totally unimportant.
It had nothing to do with Hillary Clinton or Obamacare or Mexicans or Muslims, it was a lie he told about his sniveling.
Remember during his 1st debate with HRC where he was constantly sniveling, as if he had a runny nose or a cold?
When asked about it he said that he wasn't "sniveling"...it was the microphone ...The mic was bad...But 2 weeks later at the 2nd presidential debate, he still was sniveling!
Was that due to a bad "mic" too?
Who would lie about something so inconsequential as a runny nose?
Donald Trump - that's who!
What's your favorite Donald Trump lie?

(22,976 posts)1) The people rejected him by 3 million votes, but boy, those guys in the Electoral College sure know their stuff!
2) His "landslide" historically ranks 46th out of 58 elections; so, like everything else with 45, it's not so big.
3) It was 45's first major whopper as prez-elect, and he still repeats it on an ad hoc basis. No candidate has ever been so desperate, foolish, or needy to feel compelled to make such a weird and meaningless claim.

In the initial lie category - his inaugural crowd size.
Continued lie - that Obama wiretapped him in Trump Tower.

"But industry experts say coal mining jobs will continue to be lost, not because of blocked access to coal, but because power plant owners are turning to natural gas. At least six plants that relied on coal have closed or announced they will close since Trumps victory in November, including the main plant at the Navajo Generating Station in Arizona, the largest in the West. Another 40 are projected to close during the presidents four-year term."

(6,974 posts)To be honest red dog 1, he's doing such damage to this country and to our world, I stopped laughing at that asshole a long time ago. I'm thoroughly disgusted by him and his deplorable cabinet, and the fact that he has a crazy man just like him on the Supreme Court who'll be making judgments that will negatively affect people's lives, and in some cases I bet dealing with death should he get even some of his Don't Care bill implemented in some way.

was not meant to be funny in any way.
I posted this question in the DU Lounge because I thought that this was the most appropriate forum for such a question.
I could have worded the question differently,
for example:
- "What do you think is the most blatant lie Donald Trump ever told?"
or
- "In your opinion, what's the worst lie Trump ever told?"
Like many others here, I wake up every day wishing that the 2016 election was just a nightmare or a bad dream.
There has never before been such a truly evil man occupying the White House...Never!
Not Nixon, not Reagan, not George W. Bush....They were all "saints" compared to that pathological liar who now occupies the White House.
Never before in my lifetime has the United States of America had absolutely NO "checks & balances"..
ALL THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT ARE NOW FIRMLY IN THE HANDS OF TRULY EVIL REPUBLICANS...and we may be headed toward World War 3.
The way I try to stay sane is by re-posting articles & stories about The Orange Antichrist on social websites that I belong to (not Facebook)..and also by remembering that we are all Democrats here....We all despise that evil, lying, narcissistic jackass!...We all are afraid of what that orange POS might do next!
But we can't let him & his GOP minions in Congress cause us to lose faith.
We have to try to stay hopeful!
We have to try to stay positive!
We have to support people like Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Al Franken and other Democrats in Congress such as Reps. Adam Schiff, Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters John Lewis and anyone else who has the courage to stand up to these evil monsters like Eddie Munster, The Turtle, and even Trump himself.
"What is your favorite Donald Trump lie?" is just one way of not being devoured by the evil of what has just happened to this once-great country.
As Friedrich Nietzsche said:
"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.
And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."
