Cat hero or felon?

Recently fractured body part requires a walker (sigh). Mr. Peaches Cat runs between my feet under the walker and sits down a few feet ahead of me. When I reach him, he stays until I shove him aside. He repeats this all the way down the hall or where ever. Couldn't understand why my master was trying to kill me and mentioned it to the doctor. She knew exactly what I was talking about, even finished the description for me, and said this activity occurred with most of her patients who have cats and walkers.
1. Anybody else experience this phenomena?
2. What are the cats trying to do?

Could he be deliberately slowing me down? To protect me or...?

Cats lovve the game.

Sitting on the keyboard. Sitting in front of the door so it can't be opened.

Nothing like stopping the humans progress! I say, enjoy your cat's enjoyment.

2. Remember those lion tamers of old who held the beasts at bay with just a chair?

The lion tamer held the chair in front of the lion’s face and the lion tries to focus on all four legs of the chair at the same time. Faced with so many options the lion becomes confused and doesn't now which part of the chair he should attack. Not knowing whether to pounce or wait, the lion sits and waits for the lion tamer to make the next move.

Your walker acts just like the four legs on the lion tamer's chair, leaving your kitty confused, just like those lions, about which part to pounce on or play with, so he just flops down to wait for you to do something. My mom had that trouble too, not when use used a cane, just with the walker. That's when I read about the lion tamers, Google for more stories. She solved the problem by pinning a towel around the front of her walker to hide the legs and made it look like a solid wall. Her cat always moved out of her path after that so it was a win-win.

5. I think she is trying to be protective.

Cat, dogs have some innate senses about us. You're probably giving off some vibe that she reads as you're in distress. Plus the walker is some foreign thing that given your "in distress vibe" she may interpret as causing you the distress. So she circling you, and protecting you as best she can. Anyway, that's my uneducated best guess. Hope you're free of your walker and back to your normal self soon.

That the safest place for a kitten is under its mother. That feeling has transferred to their new role as pet. It may be that your cat is trying to get used to the walker and is just following its evolutionary hard wiring.

What I can't figure out is why a cat can't let you go to the restroom in peace.

And I swear is trying to trip me. I agree it's normal cat behavior - and I'm so sorry about your accident.

I'm now scuttling around like that turtle with a ball. Makes it easier to avoid the cat.
