I work very hard trying to switch myself back to the daytime hours and all it takes is one night of waking up and not being able to get back to sleep to turn it all back around. I never drink caffeine either.

I tried and tried to do what Nancy Reagan said, "Just say NO to insomnia!"

But no turns to YES most nights, and here I am!

I actually watched an old Alfred Hitchcock show a few hours ago. Its not the kind of show that puts you to sleep.

I'm awake at night and usually sleep during the day. I was a caregiver for my father before he passed away and never reverted back to a conventional schedule, plus I don't have to deal with the heat as much during the summer if I have nighttime hours.

ever since drumpfanov was illegitimately elected president. Not to be an alarmist but our country is being led by a psychopath and his complicit family and this nation is on its way to a disastrous fall.

I had it for years, due to a combination of being laid off during a recession, and never being able to find another job., and going through the change. I think I went five or six years without a night where I slept six hours straight. I finally got somewhat back to normal by taking MidNite before I went to bed. I have started up again, a little bit, mostly because of stress. The job thing is still an issue after all these many fucking years, and now I also have TAD (Trump Anxiety Disorder.) At least I am able to fall back asleep a bit sooner than before.

I am always awake all night since I am a night worker but on top of being sleep-elusive, I have to put up with the daytime world when trying to sleep

if you think trying to sleep is tough at 03:00AM, try it at three in the afternoon

I saw news items and magazine articles warning that if you don't get at least that much sleep, great harm would come your way.

I mentioned it to my doctor one time and said, "But I only get 5 to 6 hours sleep per night."

He asked me, "Do you drag your butt around all day because you're tired?"

"No," I replied.

"Then stop worrying about it," he said.

So I don't fuss about it anymore. Sure, like anybody else, I get a little drowsy or lack energy now and again. But I'm not a zombie, so I just live with whatever comes my way.

When I was in school, it was worse; 6-7 nights a month. But I put the extra time to good use by studying.

But no more.

I have some ambient/pink noise apps for my iPad. You wouldn't think that the sound of rain on a window or tin roof, ocean waves, or crackling fire played fairly loud would put you to sleep, but it puts me out and I sleep deeply.

Give it a try.

It was years ago. I was a fan of the thunderstorm as I love thunderstorms but it played on a loop. Unfortunately, once you've listened long enough to discern the pattern, it doesn't work anymore. At least not for me.

When my Son was in the Service..I could not sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time, for about 5 yrs.
He was deployed to Iraq, so there was the fear, the stress, & the time difference..
I forgot how wonderful it is to have DREAMS.
I connected with other Military Families, especially Mamas, who could not sleep..we helped each other through the nights..
I once 'consoled' a Mama, who couldn't sleep, by saying, "sleep is for pussies!"& we laughed.
You had to be there.
Sometimes, You gotta be WOKE. 💜
