5. The first time I heard this was from a Kingston Trio recording - 1962

So i was really startled when I heard Roberta Flack singing it 10 years later.

as did "Killing Me Softly with His Song" at the 1974 Grammys.

6. I think they used to use this song for Oil Of Olay commercials in the 70's.

I don't remember if that was the product or not. I just remember they were selling a face cream that kept more mature ladies looking beautiful.

They should have talked to me first. I would have told them that age, experience, strength, resilience, and character make a woman beautiful. Not face cream.

But you can't sell those attributes. So they might not have listened...
