Does anyone else find them a totally creepy couple? It always feels to me like she is acting
out the good wife, but really is repulsed. Maybe I am projecting, but I don't think so.

(1,580 posts)convention, at the end they were all on stage. He kept Melania at arms length. And he groped Ivanka's rear end. Really telling image. Not to mention unsettling.

(53,410 posts)She looked like she wanted to straight arm him to keep him away and she kept turning her head away from him and even leaned away a bit. It made me think his breath stinks and she also didn't want to get his orange makeup on her face.
The dress she wore also seemed to scream "don't come near me!"

(97 posts)and thats the reason why she and Barron will not be staying at the white house. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a divorce or he ends up beating on her.
Look at this picture from early 2015 of Trump & Melania. Her smile actually looks genuine. http://www.pictureicon.com/image/melania-trump-2015-images-and-photo-galleries-fameimages-com

As to The Con and Milania, she always looks to me like she's his daughter, or someone way too young for him.

While I can't stand Pence.. He's not quite and insane as Trump.
Trump is unstable. Pence is just a dick.

|I also have the gut feeling that Mrs. Trump knows that she will not be accepted at all in DC society. If you watched the Gilmore Girls re-boot think of the Emily scene with the young woman and the DAR interview. I think Mrs. Trump knows that is what persons are thinking of her in DC. edit to add linkerinlough

Melania has been looking really pained throughout the proceedings, and I think a lot of that is that this Presidential pageant is not what she signed on for. This was not her arrangement with the Donald, and being from Russia she knows what a microscope is about to be focused on everything. I will be really surprised if she returns to DC after the end of the school year. I think her priority is keeping HER son (yeah, he's Donnie's too but maternal instinct is what it is) out of the meat grinder. And she probably knows where enough of the bodies are buried that, despite the prenup, she has some leverage here. Thus Ivanka being "first lady." I don't expect that to be temporary. Melania clearly has no interest in the role.

(3,631 posts)And of course the Donald is hideous, which is why I think the money is the THING. And this presidential thing does not fall under their arrangement.

(1,580 posts)She'll probably show up for events at the White House. That's about all. I can't see her taking on any platforms as other first ladies have done.

(1,701 posts)I don't think that she wanted to be First Lady. She always looks miserable to me, and he seems closer to Ivanka than to her. The whole family is creepy, except for the youngest son, who always looks miserable, too. Imagine having Trump for a father!

(14,857 posts)smiling and clapping, but Melania just sat stone-faced.
It was after her plagiarism was uncovered, so maybe that was part of it? I think she's just not comfortable around them except for Barron.

(3,666 posts)And then she goes and has Donald's child. That upsets their inheritance somewhat I bet. It's like the emperors of old and their succession of wives and struggles over whose child would be named they imperial successor. That kind of stuff led to lot of intrigue, including lots of mysterious and untimely deaths.

(3,208 posts)That always makes me suspicious of a person. With Bu$h and Cheney you could see the evil in their eyes. Her facial expression always looks superficial. Or like she is trying to remember something but can't quite get to it in her mind.
On a similar note: I am NOT a fashion oriented person. My entire wardrobe comes from rummage sales and thrift stores. Some clothes I wear I have had for 10+ years. On inauguration day, in WINTER on the EAST coast why was she wearing baby blue? Michelle had on a nice winter color. Light Blue is for spring time!!
This is petty compared to all the other issues, but I had to get that off my chest!
