Victoria on Masterpiece PBS (DC area, now.)

The story of Queen Victoria, who ascended to the throne at age 18 in 1837, begins with the young Victoria struggling to assert control amidst plots to manipulate her. Her friendship with the prime minister, meanwhile, leads to a crisis in Parliament.

I don't think the Victoria series is anywhere nearly as good as "The Crown." Paladin Jan 2017 #3

Watching half of the first "Victoria" episode last night was more than enough for me to reach that conclusion. If you feel otherwise, let me know.

And I'm interested in seeing how Jenna Coleman pulls this one off. I don't remember her from anything besides Dr. Who, and always felt Clara was only using part of her talent.

The Crown was written by a man, and I felt we never got any idea of how Elizabeth was feeling or thinking. It's frustrating when the main character is a glassy surface you can't get beyond. I'm hoping there will be more insight with little Victoria.
