US truck driver slides down icy road

A US truck driver has been forced to slide his jack-knifed vehicle down an icy mountain road after his trailer's brakes locked.

California Highway Patrol officers closed the road and escorted the truck down, making it to a safe place 20 minutes later.

Pulling doubles like that (Something I've never done in almost 30 years OTR) especially on slick roads is a handful, no doubt.

He's a bit lucky the rear trailer didn't pass the tractor! One hell of a job. Kept the speed such that the rear trailer sort of stayed put, instead of swinging all the way around.

I couldn't tell if he had chains on the rear axle, but if he didn't, the CHP probably ticketed him.
