Drug-free for 20 years. Tobacco-free for 4.5 years. Alcohol-free for 4 months.

Fun-free...forever.

Kicking the cigarettes was the hardest, followed by alcohol, and then dope. Conventional wisdom might have you thinking that it should be the other way around. That's not true in my experience.

I could really go for a six pack today. Life has been stressful, lately. But I know if I get started on that it might turn into a twelve pack and I'd just feel shitty the next day as a result. It's just not worth it to me anymore.

As I get older I find myself giving up all my old habits and pleasures. But not to worry. I keep finding new things to do and be interested in experiencing.

No cigarettes for four months.

No alcohol for 32 years.

Neither is easy but I agree cigarettes is harder.

seemed to really boost me for the next day.
A victory - a really big victory every day! I was proud at the end of every day!

Smoking @ 43 years ago and alcohol @ 27 years.

One thing I realized about 10 years ago was that was what I was taught growing up - adults smoked and drank and everything they did included smoking and drinking.
Boy my parents taught me well. Mom died on her 57th birthday and Dad was 62.

BTW my mother was an identical twin but her sister never smoked or drank and lived to 85

OOPS - forgot to say congratulations and keep it up!
