939 phone numbers

My guy once bought some medications from a telemarketer. Big surprise (not) it was crap.

But now he is hounded from these telemarketers to the point where he has identified 939 numbers that he knows not to answer. And they are still calling.

He put himself of the "Do Not Call" list. He has verbally asked them never to call again.

Does anyone know of any way we can get these calls to stop?

All cell phones have methods to block calls and VOIP systems like Vonage have block number features.

I'd like to send the whole list of these numbers to someone and find out where these calls are coming from so that we can sue. It is harassment.

I just don't know who can help us.

Type your state's name followed by the words do not call. For example "New Mexico do not call" or "Georgia do not call" (no quotes needed). That should give you info on appropriate resources.

I get these calls - well not 939, but crap calls - all the time. Blocked four numbers today.

Don't answer the calls if you do not know who it is.

Not sure if I am accurate here, but my understanding is that the callers can "spoof" unused numbers. That is use them to make calls.
Today I blocked 4 numbers from 4 area codes.

but there are still more.

The numbers he knows about he has made a ringtone for them, and we don't answer. That's 939 numbers that have a ringtone that we won't answer.

Doesn't it cost money to block numbers?

Why should we have to pay money to block numbers when we're on a "Do Not Call" registry?

they are just features on the phone.

My cell is not a smart phone just a 3G rock. On the cell it is labeled a blacklist.

But, no it does not cost.

I have been on the 'do not call' list from early on. - but think about it - do you think people pulling these scams care about any do not call list?
I talked with our local phone company when we were having a spate of these calls a couple years ago. They said their equipment is so sophisticated and they can spoof numbers so easily that they are impossible to get caught. Not to mention most of them are operating out of Asia.

Tell them, "before we get started, can I have your name and home phone number or personal cell phone number?" When they ask why, tell them,"so I can bother you at all hours of the day and night to try to sell you stuff you couldn't possibly want or need."
