Taylor Swift was ‘terrified’ to meet First Lady Michelle Obama

Taylor Swift attended her first Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday and was more than honored to receive the Big Help Award for her charity work from First Lady Michelle Obama.

When she accepted her award, the 22-year-old couldn’t help but say how excited she was to be receiving an award from the First Lady.

“I have always wanted to meet you,” Swift said. “This is amazing. I’m so honored be receiving this award from the First Lady of the United States. I’m freaking out.”

Although she found the experience to be “amazing” she admitted to being “terrified” to meet Michelle Obama.

“To be awarded an award from the First Lady was one of the most exciting things,” she told Access Hollywood after receiving her award. “I’ve been really terrified to meet her because I’m such a fan. I never went to the White House. I never like got a chance to meet her and so to get to meet her on a night like tonight, where she’s giving me an award for something; it was just over-the-top amazing. I’m so thankful.”

I was never a big Taylor Swift fan (not my kind of music) but it's nice that she is so down to earth. I'm sure over in FreeLoaders Republic their heads are exploding that Swift would be like that.

I believe I read that she is a dem, and not that I'm a Katie Couric fan, but when she co-hosted GMA Monday she said that Swift is a good role model for young girls. I agree with that, and hope she doesn't go down the Lindsey Lohan route.

Awkward, over-achieving, gangly, nerd-girl who just happened to grow up into a gorgeous, talented, intelligent young woman. I like her, and I hope the whole "fame" experience doesn't chew her up and ruin her life like it has done to so many others before her.
