My 82 yr old cousin and fellow alum of a state public university, prestigious in its way, said to me recently, "You didn't learn what you know from (state u.). You educated yourself (elsewhere)."

So. This internet thing, yes AND my beloved DU, are a gigantic waste of time. So now I am augmenting the gigantic waste with YouTube -- everything on it -- BBC documentaries, late night comedian interviews with Stars from the past, GOSSIP!!!!!.

Yess, I've already actually TURNED OFF the teevee for things like Caligula's rehabilitated reputation, Roman yucky recipes, everything OPENING MY EYES on how the Romans touched Britain with buildings and baths, the glory of the Greeks, the unsuspected sexuality of the Egyptians - MORE and MORE!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm embarking on a multi-part revelation on Marcel PROUST's lying in bed to write seven volumes.
