I brought my 10-year old home from basketball practice and, within a few minutes of stepping through the door, I had to send him to the bathroom before i moved to a new place to avoid the stench. But as the odor faded, I realized that he really his getting old, and in just a year or two, he won't be just a boy anymore. As a matter of fact, we may have already passed that point. Time is moving faster than ever.

(130,908 posts)Will likely happen to my daughters in about 8 years. They both have sons; I never did.

(25,586 posts)The stench of her equipment when she gets home is enough to curl your toes and singe your nose hairs. Sometimes kid sweat is even nastier than adult sweat.

(16,379 posts)Four middle-to-high-school boys in my van. I can remember them asking me why I had the car windows down when it was so cold outside. "Oh, I just enjoy the crisp air!" I would gasp. I honestly miss those days now that they are young adults. They were sooo funny together.

(4,851 posts)Coming home from soccer, I sometimes have to open a window because the car smells so bad. She gets home and showers, but the hormones have started and BO is something that hits most people, especially athletic youngsters.
Time flies. We realized we only have 7 summers with her before she will be off to college. I can not believe it. Good luck!

(23,988 posts)I spent months being absolutely certain that one of our cats was peeing in the laundry room. I looked everywhere, moved everything. Even used a blacklight in the dark, but could never find anything.
It turned out it was our sons' soccer shoes. I apologized to the cats.
This thread has me LMAO!

(12,132 posts)his friend would come over and they'd retire to his room for video games and such. After the first time, we had to tell our son he needed to make sure his friend kept his shoes on. That boy's feet stank so bad we had to leave the house. And that was through a closed bedroom door. I think he must have walked barefoot through dog-shit and vomit on the way over to our house.
Our boy handled it though. The kid spent many afternoons at our house and no more stench.
