Tales from the ER...

Mom fell twice this morning. History of stroke. 80. I live with her and not currently not working because I have to take care. Alzheimiers. She was naked in pool of urine. Got her up and dressed and walked her down hall to make sure no broken hip. She could stand but very unsteady. Cut arm and knot on head, called 911 but dressed her first so she would suffer indignity of being naked.

Trauma room, Monday morning, Huntsville, Al Hospital which is regional for N. Al. Medflight and such. Had to argue for admission, finally hospitalist came in and said has she had MRI and I went no, she is stroke victim why didn't they order immediate? i had to direct ER personnel as to what tests I wanted. This is Medicare. Admitted finally and Rehab ordered. First time in 2 years, I don't have to be not at home without sitter.

Lot's of people jonesing for meds and fat and smokers. Jeebus. Not judging but if able, don't smoke and walk. Also, bike versus car tonight. Guess who won?
