Did anyone else think fat Betty Draper looked like Victoria Jackson?

The writers of this show just hate Betty Draper nee Francis. Last year she was this evil plotting demon mommy. I expect we'll see her take it out on her daughter Sally again next week. In the meantime they're punishing Betty by making her fat and depressed and a Victoria Jackson look-alike.... and then headfaking her with a cancer scare.

And here I thought comic book writers were pathologically misogynist. Nope, those TV writers got it worse.

1. I think, perhaps, the writers don't really like January Jones...

There is at least some indication that she, in real life, might be a little "difficult"... Then again, who knows?--that is TMZ kind of gossip and we all know how Hollywood gossips like to attack leading ladies. Nonetheless, it might not be the character that is the impetus.

2. Actually it was just the writers way of dealing with the reality that January Jones got pregnant

Instead of Betty Francis getting pregnant, they wrote a sideline that she has thyroid issues.

Betty with more kids would be nightmarish.
