National Garage Sale Day Its time to clean out some old junk but one persons junk may be anothers treasure! Garage Sale Day is an excuse to set up a table in your garage or on your lawn, put up some signs and rake in the eager crowds for a chance to walk away with a modestly priced, pre-loved treat! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/garage-sale-day/Ecological Debt Day Ecological Debt Day is a day intended to remind people of the impact of a modern life-style on the planet. It marks the point in each Gregorian calendar year where human consumption of natural resources exceeds the earths ability to replace those resources that year. At a sustainable rate of consumption, Ecological Debt Day would fall at the end of each calendar year. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/ecological-debt-day/
Middle Child Day Middle Childs Day provides a well-deserved day to celebrate those special children who were neither the first-born or the last-born. Finally, a day where you get some attention and love, at the expense of your other siblings. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/middle-childs-day/
International Lefthander's Day From scissors to knives, Left Handers, or Southpaws, are the brunt of jokes all year long for various different things. But this is the day to ignore that, and bring awareness to all the right handed folk around the globe in celebration of Left Handers Day, after all while right handed people operate in the left side of the brain, left handed people sure the right side. Therefore, only left handed people are in their right mind. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/lefthanders-day/

(17,238 posts)2. it is also NATIONAL FILET MIGNON DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In French, filet mignon may be called filet de boeuf, which translates to beef fillet in English.
When found on a French menu, filet mignon may also refer to pork rather than beef.
The tenderloin from which the filet mignon comes is the most tender cut of beef and is also considered the most desirable and therefore the most expensive.

(53,339 posts)5. We were up to 103 today...
And I was kicking myself for not picking up more macaroni salad! That's a real treat in hot weather.
I lived in Portland for a while (okay, 7 years) and my biggest peeve was the rain. When I lived in Northern Virginia we had about the same annual rainfall as Portland, but half the number of rainy days. I never got used to people mowing their lawns in the rain in Oregon. Not to mention the slugs.
I'm in SoCal now, in L.A. County. But this is North county high desert, so we're used to the heat.
