This reminded me out of the blue... http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=8075906
Yes the Revolver album is 50 today... However, about 35 years ago, I took my Mom's original Sgt. Peppers album... you know, the one with the cutout figures of the band, that was in perfect and complete condition and decided it was a fantastic idea to use it is a frisbee in the back yard. Even though we lost everything (including her vinyl collection) in a flood about 10 years later, I still felt bad. Besides, it was a good excuse to call Mommy.
She's doing good, has a few contracts lined up, and may take a vacation in the Caribbean in the late fall. She said it was all good, and not to worry about flinging her albums off the back porch... But man, it still bugs me that I did it so many years ago.

(46,179 posts)when I was in high school my boyfriend kept asking me to borrow my mom's vinyl collection, and not returning them.
They'd be worth a bunch today. She has, fortunately, forgiven me.
