How come when we are uptight or anxious we get very impatient?

(I mean, I do and I think most people do.)

What I mean by impatient, I mean, it seems to take forever for Web pages to load. An elevator takes forever to arrive.

And noise is far more aggravating.

2. Maybe it's a byproduct of wanting the stress to end quickly.

You just want to feel good again and it's trying your patience when relaxation is not coming fast enough.

That might explain a lot of heavy drinking in our society as well. We live in a stressful society and we often reach for a quick fix for relief.
