So Who Wants To Talk About Star Trek: Beyond? * Spoilers, obviously*

Loved it. I was worried that a change in director wouldn't be the best thing, but they definitely hit it out of the park. That scene at the end when Spock is going through Spock Prime's personal effects and sees the picture of the original cast..

A very straightforward story with little convolutions.

Much better than the last time they destroyed the Enterprise in a film.

There was a significant reduction in lens flares!

I need to see it again though. I had to sit too close to the screen and missed a lot of what was going on!

But yeah the lens flares did drive me crazy. I think JJ Abrahams apologized for that one point.

I watched them again for the unkownth time. Well, more like listened to them in the background while I was working on the computer. They still hold up pretty well regardless of the lens flares.

i read that the studio had greenlit a fourth. I wonder if they'll work in Carol Marcus back into the series.

My wife found this online. Apparently Karl Urban almost didn't do the third one.

That was pretty cool. They had the LA Philharmonic playing the score and it really brought out the music. George Takei was in the audience too.
