"2 'Pokemon Go' players plunge off cliff"

Attention, people, attention!

ENCINITAS, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two men who were playing "Pokemon Go" fell off an ocean bluff in Southern California.

One man fell about 50 feet down the side of the unstable bluff and the other fell about 90 feet to the beach.

They were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The wildly popular game involves chasing digital critters that pop up as you move about the real world. There have been reports of distracted players walking into trees, playing while driving, and even being robbed by crooks who lured players with digital goodies. In Anaheim, police say one player was stabbed Wednesday by a group of men in a park.

At least when they videoed that lady falling into to the fountain at the mall it was funny.

Falling off a cliff isn't funny. What's the over-under for the first death? I'd bet under. *sigh*

so it is pretty much guaranteed to lead to such accidents.

I thought about the woman in the mall fountain, too.

I recently read about a Chinese woman who drowned in a river because she didn't look up from her cell phone. (Warning--the video of the surveillance footage shows her falling into the river.):

Surveillance footage released online shows the woman struggling for over a minute before she disappeared from the surface of the water.

The woman, 28-year-old Wang, a migrant worker and mother of two, was walking in the middle of the road, but being too focused on her phone, she gradually walked towards the edge of the water without realizing it, which in the end leads to the tragedy.

Wang’s body was discovered after her husband Yang spotted her shoe floating on the river while he was looking for her the next morning.

Zhou Renjun, the police officer in charge of the case, told thepaper.cn that the river is only chest-deep, but the thick sludge down the water can cause people to slip and fall.
