I might have found a job. It's looking promising anyway.

Not bad for a guy who got fired last Tuesday and didn't put any applications in until Sunday.

It is a truck driving position. Five day work week, home every day. Average about $200 a day to start. Drivers with seniority are making close to 70k a year. Not touch freight. Almost 100% drop and hook. That means I won't be unloading and loading trucks and I won't be sitting at a dock all day. It sounds like a really good job.

I'm waiting to hear back from them now. I just got done talking with the terminal manager where I'd be working from and everything sounded good there. We'll see.

it would be a great job for him. he could do long hauls, and see the country. hell, if he did well i would consider helping him buy his own truck.

Truck drivers are always in demand, even when the economy isn't so hot.

but he doesnt want to "slave for the man"
he would rather live off his mother and play his drums in the basement.

How old is your son? You have to be 21 to drive a truck.

and yeah, he sure does.
still dwelling on childhood slights and parental flaws. but at some point you realize your parents were just humans, not the superheroes you thought they were. that is my definition of growing up.
he has a long way to go, and he is taking it out on the wrong parent. a fatherless boy whose father was right there. sad, but time to move on.

crossed for you too.

My husband hauled oversized machinery and such across the country. He loved it but ended up on disability and it was heartbreaking for all of us.

In those seven days off I drank enough beer to sink an oil tanker and read a couple of books. It's time to sober up and get back to it.
