It is Canada Day. I'm in Ottawa. Just heard thunder. There is a slim chance of funnel clouds. Vibes

to the 100s of thousands downtown while it rains. Especially the little kids. Oh boy. I was terrified of thunder and lightening as a kid. Can't imagine what it would be like to be in a crowded downtown when strings of thunder storms go through.

It has passed. And there was no warning signal on the tv. So there were no funnels. Still those kids applegrove Jul 2016 #2

must be soaked. Which is kinda fun when you are a teenager. But not so fun when you are a child.

It was -40 (pick a scale) that day.
There was little traffic so I was able to see quite a bit in the 3 hours or so I was there.
Spent about half an hour watching the skaters on the canal.
Always wanted to go back.

Hope you had a good Canada Day and have a great weekend.

beautiful in the summer from the Gatineau side of the river, or the bridges, where you can see the back of Parliament, the round library, the supreme court, the Chateau Laurier over the rocky cliffs.

I can see the fireworks from just outside my apartment so I don't have to worry about getting soaked.

Have a Happy 4th of July!!!

He and my mother returned there many times - and it was within driving distance. My brother and I only went with them once, but it really is a beautiful city!

I'm in NE New York and we've had two major storms in the past 24 hours, thunder and lightning and serious downpours. The news reported tornado warnings, very unusual for these parts, but fortunately they didn't materialize. We had similar weather just last Tuesday, not a great start to the summer season. Stay safe!
