Balon Greyjoy was the head of House Greyjoy and Lord of the Iron Islands. The Iron Islands are one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms and House Greyjoy is one of the Great Houses of the realm. House Greyjoy rule the region from their seat at Pyke and Balon also holds the title Lord Reaper of Pyke. He was a hard, ambitious and ruthless man.

Balon declared himself King of the Iron Islands and rose in the rebellion against the Iron Throne to revive the "Old Way", which had once led the ironborn to rule much of the western coast of Westeros. He was, however, defeated in a bloody war. His elder two sons were killed and his third son, Theon, was taken by Lord Eddard Stark as a hostage for Balon's good behavior and obedience.

1. OMG

I want the Iron Islands and Dorne plotlines to just go away. In the books, Dorne was relatively interesting but the show just made it all stupid. And the Iron Islands plot in the books was so boring I wanted to poke myself with pins just to feel something. The show makes Waterworld a little bit more interesting but I still hate all of it.

Now now, children--Moon Unit, Blue Ivy, Apple, and Brexit--stop teasing Brooklyn, Paris, and North!


If you want your kid to have a weird and unique name, try for John, Mary, or Edward! LOL~!

3. Greed and murderous ambition are a human staple.

It's the one consistent thread that runs through our history. So having a show that centers on that will certainly make it popular. Funny how there was less than one episode about a peaceful community. It didn't even last through the hour before the community gets killed. Like they were some big threat or something. Sigh...
