1. I once found a bookshop that looked like that. PLUS dust.

I thought I'd found heaven until I got inside, and found prices more than twice what I was accustomed to paying for secondhand books. ALL the way to the bottom of those carefully disarranged dusty piles.

Down the road, was a bright and airy store where every book was displayed so spine or cover could be seen and the prices almost made me disgrace myself.

Powell's headquarters, dubbed Powell's City of Books, claims to be the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. 12. Wish I had a local bookstore!

Closet thing we have now is Barnes about 10 miles away. Won't go there! We had an independent bookstore in town for a couple of years, but no one ever shopped there. Now they're closed and the Borders in the next town closed too! Now everyone's wondering why we have no bookstores around!!
