1. leather furniture
2. the soft padding inside
3. the porous fabric that holds these things together
4. cat urine. fucking cat urine
I need a service that can clean every part of these pieces of furniture so that the odor of cat urine is eradicated. It seems that no such service exists.
Have you ever heard of such a business? In Orange County, CA? That picks up and delivers?
Am I delusional?

(5,019 posts)with nature's miracle and keep it wet for a long as you can without it starting to get moldy. If the cat can reach it, you should also be able to.

(5,019 posts)and saturated both the carpet and pad. I poured probably 2 cups of nature's miracle (there's a special cat pee one and a general cat smell one) on the spot and covered it with a clean plastic bag to keep it wet for at least 48 hours (maybe 72 or even more? - its been a while). I think I then soaked up as much as I could with clean towels and let it all air dry. No smell left - it was amazing. Also did it with a memory foam mattress which I then ran water through. It works amazingly well if you make sure it stays wet long enough for the enzymes to work.

(21,484 posts)My sister found this furniture at a yard sale. Excellent shape - until Rat Face got to it.
Fun? Ellen, I am so thrilled to be home that I don't know what to do with myself.

(3,818 posts)did the same thing to one of my leather chairs. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it. I haven't had much luck with Nature's Miracle (NM) on other things though, sorry to say. I used another product on the chair and it didn't entirely work. Hydrogen peroxide may work just as well or better than NM and you won't have the after scent it leaves behind. I saw another product mentioned on a cat group on FB recently. I'll try and find out the name.

(21,484 posts)TuxedoKat, I've since learned of Super Concentrated Odor Eliminator (SCOE). A friend told me it's the best thing he's ever used on cat urine. It has an unpleasant odor* when you spray/pour it, but it leaves no odor behind, he says, and completely eradicated the urine odor. He used it on furniture. He really had to soak the area that had been peed on, but once it dried, the stink was gone.
It's not cheap. I've ordered some, the test kit. We'll see. Whatever you use, I hope you have good luck.
* More of a chemical harshness in the nose than an actual bad smell, he says.
