A frequent quirk of working in phone-based customer service

Me: "I'll be happy to help you with that. May I ask your name, please?"

Caller: "Bob Pthanaszjutcnanelough."

Me: "Thank you. Could you spell that for me?"

Caller: "Oh, sure. B O B."

Me: "Okay..."

"Sure, what did you need?'

"It's a booklet with a little bit of color on some of the pages."

"Okay. How many pages are there and how many booklets did you need?"

"I don't know."

My favorite to this day, only because I was sure it was a trick question. I work for a printer.

"Do you print on paper?"

I was silent for a second. I really didn't know how to answer them. "What kind of paper?"

"The regular kind."

I was still wary of answering "yes" because I was still sure it was a trick question.
