Yes, and it's a darned good thing. 'Cause my post might have been hidden too.

Nah, I'm too innocent to post on a thread like that one.

(149,681 posts)It HAS happened to me, and I am usually frustrated because I'd wanted to say something.......and now I can't!
Phooey.

(205,856 posts)I got one "post removed" back in 2004, the only time that happened and I was so shook up that I wasn't sure I should come back! And the crazy thing was that it was on an animal thread and I was replying to a troll. I've learned a lot since then, but mostly not to reply in the heat of the moment. It was an unpleasant experience, but it served me well as a lesson here, haven't made the same mistake again - yet, anyway.

(72,300 posts)My next one was years later during my first term as part of MIRT.
But, in retrospect, it was worth the hide. As a host I read threads I might not see if it wasn't brought to my attention. When I feel the urge to risk another hide I walk away from the computer.

(20,176 posts)It really pisses me off too. I'm one of those people not satisfied with telling you than you're an asshole; I have to include proofs, citations and dialectics...a good page and a half post that took me 20 minutes to write because I need you to know precisely in illuminating detail why you're an asshole...and:
"Your post was unsuccessful because the thread you are replying to is hidden."
Fucking hell, motherfuckers. Arrrrrrgh!

(28,342 posts)end with this error message. Shining prose, stunning verse, breath-taking wisdom and light, laid out in paragraph after paragraph - each post capable of illuminating the human condition! Alas, tragically, you will never see them, because the thread was hidden.
Oh well humanity. You shall have to suffer on without.

(8,217 posts)I would write a long treatise on why they are wrong using mostly logos and a smidgen of ethos.
I would convince myself that I am doing a public service in trying to bridge understanding and find common ground.
It has happened enough that I just gave up at times.
