A work in progress...Client food porn photos before and after coaching on plating.

I posted this one on DU a couple of weeks ago. It is a combination plate with sausage, a meatball, lasagna a chicken parm. It's kind of haphazardly plated and swimming in sauce and cheese.



I met with the client last week and made some suggestions on plating. I wasn't in the kitchen standing over them while they prepared it but this is basically the shot I requested. The cut surface of the lasagna isn't magazine-cover perfect but in the realm of food photos I see on Websites and Facebook pages in my area, it's still a major leap forward. And like I said...it's a work in progress.

This looks way better than the mess on that first plate. The sprig of basil makes me smile too.
