Seeing these in print provokes a visceral loathing in me that is so intense it makes me automatically dismiss anything the writer might have to say.

I'll always use "you" and "you are", like God intended, and if I spill over to another text message, then I'll send another text, by God.

I use proper punctuation too, or else I would have said "send another text by God" just now, which would change the meaning completely.

I think people on Twitter and elsewhere can abbreviate other words to spell out YOU and ARE and WHAT. "Wut" is the dumbest one. You're only saving one letter with that abomination. I also do my punctuation.

(I wish I could take credit for it, but I cannot. I did modify the original a bit to get the meter right.)

Ode to Spell Check (or maybe, Owed?)

I have a spelling chequer.
It came with my PC.

It planely marks four my revue,
Miss takes eye can knot sea.

I've run this poem threw it,
And I'm shore your glad two no.

Its wonder full in every whey.
My chequer tolled mi sow.

...I must admit, I use this one myself, though if it's any consolation, I do feel guilty about it...

Sometimes I mix them up in the same sentence! But I don't do it when I write them.

"I Would Die 4 U" is a song by Prince and The Revolution, and the fourth single in the US from their 1984 album, Purple Rain. The up-tempo dance song was a top 10 hit (the last from the album) in the US, reaching number 8 on the Hot 100.

Joking, of course. If the world goes to U for YOU, I will comply. I'm sure in 1958 someone my age was shaking their cane at the young folks for how they spelled things!
