My mother and sister were enthralled by this fellow and went to one of his appearances at his height of success, the venue packed with screaming mostly middle-aged ladies, and after the initial tide of screaming, his Spanish pique led to his scolding, "I can. not. *CONCENTRATE* with this noise!1" which I think made them like him more. Odd, back then it didn't seem any son (Enrique) could match or surpass his popularity.
