Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsPost here - movies you'd love to see a sequel made **spoilers I'm sure**
I am fascinated by movie "Splice" which starred Sarrah Polley and Adrian Brody who create manage to splice human DNA in with a bunch of other critters to create this bizzarro human, bird, frog hybrid.
If you have seen the very end of the movie, turns out that Polley, the only survivor of this mess, is knocked up by what we suspect is a spawn from when she was raped by this spliced species. Ever the scientist wanting to push to the edge, she did not abort the beast but intead it seems like she sold herself in the name of science.
I know I'm curious as to what she ended up breeding.
What other movies would you love to have a sequel made

(4,851 posts)It doesn't end well for our heroes. Maybe a few more weeks of adventure, but eventually they all get the brain munchies.
Seriously though, I enjoyed that movie and would not mind another.

(82,849 posts)William Hurt gets out of prison and goes looking for Kathleen Turner. I think it could be a real corker of a movie, cat-and-mouse kind of thing. Of course, once Hollywood gets its grimy mitts on a story, they often ruin it, but the time has passed in the real world that the William Hurt character could indeed be getting out of prison about now.

(82,849 posts)I don't know that you'd want to get too many of the original cast back together (not Mickey Rourke, please!), but Ted Danson's character seemed like he might be sympathetic to a newly-released Hurt, especially if Hurt could persuade Danson that he'd been framed. Danson's character seemed to be highly motivated by a sense of justice.
As to how Kathleen Turner looks now (post above), I think it would make it all the more interesting. Her original character traded heavily on her looks and sex appeal to entice just the right patsy for her scheme. Now she has to rely more on her cunning and guile. I really think it could work well.

Difficult to catch lightning in a bottle twice, and Buckaroo Banzai may be of interest solely to the 17 or 18 of us for whom the movie is a classic.

(8,401 posts)It is actually a trilogy of stories so a full 'reboot' would likely be better but a sequel could be very good.

(8,556 posts)When Mel Gibson went on his anti-Semitic tirade, I happened to be out of the country and not able to access the internet. I didn't hear about it until a week or so after it happened. The first story I read on it was one of those 'week after' stories - less about the incident and more 'where do we go from here?' It was essentially asking whether or not he had a future in the business.
One of the insiders quoted said something to the effect of:
'His reputation is damaged, but if he announced today that he was making 'Braveheart 2,' the lines would still form.'
Always stuck with me for some reason. Though rather than 'Braveheart 2' specifically, I think what we need are more quality historical epics.

(8,556 posts)I'm even willing to slide on the accuracy ('Braveheart' wasn't particularly strong on that one) if it's a good story, with a good script and decent actors.
This is not what I had in mind:

(10,129 posts)I think it`d be fun to revisit Chazz, Rex and Pip after their success faded... maybe a storyline involving Chazz trying to keep Kayla from leaving him by putting together a reunion.. I picture Rex being the type who hangs out in clubs trying to use his past fame to pick up women and Pip living in some new-age "woo" type commune lol

(2,199 posts)but my wife would be laughing and crying hysterically if that happened. I've watch the original just a few times to put it mildly. She liked once kind of, but after watching me watch it numerous times she laughs. So for Costner and Duvall to make a sequeal would be fun...The cattle drive goes on and the guys return to own the saloon/law enforcement....
