the things that make her go gaga. But no, it was a blueberry muffin tonight. I thought if I let Twilight get up on the table close to it she would smell it and think twice. Getting close just made her more nuts for it. I seem to recall it happening before. very strange cat.

Put a little dab of ketchup out, the dog can't leave it alone, but can't hardly lick it up.

She will lick at it, back away and then come back again until it is gone.

He plays with them and if the dogs don't get them he keeps them together as his toys. Whenever I am cutting up stuff to take out to the goats he comes and reaches up on the counter until I give him one. He will occasionally eat one but mostly he plays with them.

A bowl of prepared strawberries, sliced with a little sugar, was heaven to her. The smae with sliced peaches. She would mostly drink the juice and only nibble on the fruit.

We would give her the rind of a cantaloupe after we'd eaten most of it and she would lick it until it was almost transparent.

All words that my mixed Aussie girlie knows very very well, so well that we whisper them--LOL

If she is really mad at me for planning to leave her for the day, I will sometimes give her a "spent" 16 ounce plasic jar of (natural, unsweetened) peanut butter to try and lick out. That will keep her occupied for at least an hour--allowing me to make my exit. She can't get down to the bottom, of course, but she surely does clean the "walls" quite thoroughly.

Before breakfast, she positions herself by her bowl as I pour my first 1/2 mug of coffee. Her eyes glint and ears cock forward as I reach for the fridge door handle. I add milk to my coffee, then her bowl.

"Ah, Yes! MILK!!!"
Repeat for second 1/2 mug.
Bedtime, Sally goes out to the back yard, comes in and stands by her bowl for her milk nightcap.

I don't know how the hell she knows I'm pulling a can of tuna (or salmon) from the pantry, as opposed to a can of anything else. But, she does. And, she can tell from this the other side of the house.

He comes running from anywhere in the house if he hears/smells a bag being opened. To his credit, he is a very polite beggar and just sits quietly and looks appealing until you give him a few chips. It's the only human food he's really interested in. I have no idea why.

The other cat doesn't like human food at all.

Cats are weird.

I'm not sure I could get past that enough to try it. Sort of like the salted fish a local supermarket here has started carrying. Freaky looking, especially here in New England where fresh fish is so accessible.

If you try to share a piece of meat or cheese or fish with him, or get him some fancy canned or refrigerated cat food he looks at you like you are insane. Mashed potatoes though, he will eat right off a fork........

He's a very odd shelter cat. He is a true 'fraidy cat, even though he is a Norwegian Forest Cat and doesn't have a graceful bone in his body. He also "talks" alot.

I don't have any pictures of him at work but he is an absolute clone of this one:

When I grab my bag to pop a few almonds every few days, Linus circles me, rubs and gets really verbal until I give him one. He then goes to his favorite eating spot and gnaws on it until he gets it small enough to eat.

Each morning when I cut up my apple, Kellie is right there to "help" me eat it - and she gets about 1/4 of an apple each day. She's also a fan of cucumbers and green peppers but the daily apple is definitely her thing.

I love my goofy pets - their antics make me love them even more!

He'll climb your leg if he doesn't get some. Odd thing about Chaucer, he's not much into "people food" (except for lox--which I'm not terribly surprised by...) because he's never been given much of it. We always had a rule that anything he got to eat was out of his food bowl--NO begging at the table--so as a result, he's always had excellent manners when we were at the dinner table. I was absolutely staggered a couple of months ago when my 10 year old cat went absolutely nuts when I opened a bag of beef jerky as a snack for me.

He gets all worked up, dances around in circles, meows, and stands on his back legs. More often than not, he won't even eat the part spoonful we put down for him.

My previous kitty, Hilary, went nuts over potato chips. If she heard the sound of a potato chip bag, she's come running and pretty much insist on sharing. All the other cats thought she was crazy to like them.

One of my roommates' cats loved mushrooms, especially mushrooms cooked on pizza. The roommate's favorite pizza was Canadian bacon and mushrooms, so maybe that had something to do with it. You could not leave pizza unattended, even in the box. That cat would open the box and eat every mushroom off the pizza, but she never ate any of the Canadian bacon.
