Cops respond after Iowa cat calls 911

http://kwqc.com/2016/02/29/cops-respond-after-iowa-cat-calls-911/

AMES, Iowa (KWQC) – When Ames Police answered the 911 line last Thursday, there was only silence.

“We call that a ‘hang up 911’ and always send an officer to [the location of the call],” a police spokesperson said.

The responding offer discovered that while the call originated from Ames Pet Hospital, none of the employees had dialed 911.

An investigation soon implicated ten-month-old Smudge the cat, a feline resident of the hospital who had stepped on a button pre-programmed to dial 911.

Although I was wondering why the phone has a button pre-programmed for 911. Are three digits just too many buttons to push these days, or too many numbers to remember?

He was a paraplegic, so had found the right home, with several vets on call for him all the time. He was extremely friendly and was known to sit with the sickest patients, just seemed to know. The only issue with him was that he liked to wander at night and rip open bags of pet food, often making himself sick, so they had to crate him at night. He was obviously on a special diet and people liked to bring him gifts, but only toys were allowed. He was an orange tabby named Prince, and he really lived up to his name...

Mine just plunks down and camps there. I suspect she believes she is dangerously under petted.

I have a suspicion some students may have experimented a bit and created a little monster of a cat.
