It was cool to see how it all came together. I'm s true crime fan too, so the investigative journalism process is interesting to me.

They have easy links to the original articles. I read the first one. It was amazing how accurate it was. It was all consistent.

But, beyond the accuracy of the story, the directing was great. The background music fit the mood well. It was suspenseful.

Really an all around wonderful film.

It was a horrible event. The movie didn't visualize the gory details. They did have scenes with the victims being interviewed by the reporters. It was more about how the newspaper uncovered the terrible behavior of the church which led to more and more torturing and suffering of children.

I'm sure the Catholic Church is not happy it won. But I am. However I didn't see any of the other competing films.

The movie is character and dialogue driven, so the writing is really good. It holds your interest without showing any of the nasty crap or a single high speed chase.

It earned the Oscar

Great win. Tough competition! Looking forward to reading Charles Pierce Monday, he wrote about Spotlight.

I saw every Best Picture nominee and 19 of the 20 nominated performances.
