The pay phone that quaint-looking device with a receiver and a slot for coins is fast disappearing. Or were you too busy staring at your Droid to have noticed?
Dont look for a pay phone on Route 4. None of the highways 22 gas stations has one.
Dont feed quarters into any of the five phones in the entryway of Hackensacks Coach House diner. Theyve been disconnected.

Turns out they were disappearing because drug dealers used them.

(10,573 posts)Just look for the biggest, loudest public address speakers (usually mounted in the ceiling). The pay phones will be right below them.
