(29,414 posts)And since I need to go to the store this morning, I'll get the things I need (red bell pepper, onions, tomato paste, buns.) No celery in the mix, though I will look in my smoothie book ("Crazy Sexy Juice" by Kris Carr) to see if I can blend it into anything instead

1 lb ground turkey (or beef)
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup thick picante sauce (I use medium)
1/3 cup your favorite BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's
Brown meat in skillet and pour off any accumulated fat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve on hamburger buns. Makes about 4 sandwiches.
or, for Vegan Sloppy Joes:
Omit meat. Blend together ketchup, picante sauce, BBQ sauce, 1/3 cup water and 1 tsp soy sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and add 1/2 cup Textured veg protein. Simmer covered for 15 minutes. Serve on hamburger buns. Makes about 4 sandwiches.
