... and my new place doesn't allow pets. It took quite a while, but I've
reached a point where I really wish I could get another cat. I'm feeding
the few ferals we seem to have (actually, I've seen one or two ferals & a
coupla fat-n-sassy-obviously- well-cared-for-but-opportunistic-li'l-piggy
housecats). The birds seem to be eating quite a bit of the food, too.

If I ever have the opportunity again, I think I'll repeat NoName's tuxedo
catness. Her "catitude" (shhh, she reminded me of Kali) and the fact that
she and my ex-neighbor's tuxedo cat adapted to going for walks on a long
leash IMMEDIATELY were both big pluses -- but she was also BY FAR the
sweetest cat I've ever had. Walks were important as I wouldn't have an
outdoor cat in AZ -- as MiddleFingerMomMom taught me the French word
for them:

(50,130 posts)He was just suited for it, somehow. He was a little afraid of motorcycles, but other than that it usually went just fine. He had a "route" that he picked and was his custom.
Keiko passed on March 16 last year. I miss him every day, despite having two other cats in the household. They are both left with me from other family members who moved elsewhere, but they are not so bonded.

(95,337 posts)Abbott is aggressive he'll start patting me in the face to wake me up. Evita just paces and whines really really loud.
What's funny is I'll fake them out - I'll look like i'm getting out of bed but then just rollover. THey'll start rushing for the door but sure enough 5 minutes later they'll be back doing the same thing.
Oddly enough they get way more annoying if the water bowl is empty.
