private rescue organizations?

I just wondered how it's possible for rescue organizations to consistently come up with pedigree puppies EVERY weekend. Then again, they may be spade and neutered, though they seem young. Younger than six months.

1. I think what might be happening

is that the puppy mills dump unsold or unhealthy puppies on the rescue organizations. I know of a cat rescue that just took in a beautiful pedigreed Persian the breeder didn't want any more because he had an eye condition that kept him out of the show ring. I'm sure the rescuers will soon find a nice home for this cat. That probably happens a lot with dogs too.
