Just like everywhere else. Yes, some furniture is laminate over MDF, some is pine, some is veneer.Not everyone wants or can afford furniture that lasts for generations. Personally, I can't afford to pay $1 to $2K (or more) on a new sofa.



Actually I got the top one used off Craigslist for $225 and IKEA sells covers in other colors for $150 to $200.
