The DU Lounge

It's friday, it's beautiful outside (well at least it is here in Delaware) and damnit I feel like a margarita tonight! So let's get the party started with probably one of the best party albums of all time - Jimmy Buffett's "Songs You Know by Heart" which includes all of his greatest hits including:
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Margaritaville
And the official anthem of DU:
I've never seen Jimmy Buffett in concert but I have been outside of his concerts. Some of the best parties in Philly was when Jimmy Buffett played at the Mann Music Center - those of us too poor to afford tickets would party right outside of the venue where we could hear the music perfectly and drink to our hearts content!
Happy Friday!

(37,540 posts)One of the great shows that really captured Jimmy when he was at his peak. He had as much fun doing his show as the audience did.
Timothy Schmidt, the Bassist, was an original Eagles member, I believe. I think these vids were part of that concert. I had this show way back when on VCR. My kids loved this tape! great versions of "Stars on the Water" and "One Particular Harbor"
Stars on the Water (not the Live at the Bay version, though
One particular Harbor (from Live by the Bay) - Robert Greenidge playing the steel drum intro is terrific..
Sadly, I don't think this was ever released to DVD, but it is on Youtube in 5 parts. Video is not great, but the music captures what I think is Buffett's high tide mark in his career.
