Right now, it's too early, and I'd just toss and turn...
Or else just wake up at 3 a.m. and not be able to sleep any more!
But in another hour, I'll be tired enough...
I put an ice pack on my knee, and that made the soreness much less...
Maybe I can avoid the Vicodin tonight.
I hope all of you are doing well tonight...

(19,379 posts)How's it doing otherwise? You getting around on it ok? Doing therapy?
Here's to a fast recovery.

(149,702 posts)You know, I'm really doing OK. I can walk just fine, though any distance makes me tired.
I am doing PT at home; tomorrow's my last day for that. My PT guy keeps saying I'm doing super well.
I must be impatient! It'll be a month tomorrow since the surgery, and I keep thinking I should be further along towards normalcy!

(11,546 posts)I hope you can avoid it but only if the pain won't keep you awake. I know what you mean about going to bed too early and not being able to sleep although it is worse after surgery. It sounds like you are doing well though!!
I'll be having surgery (lower back) three weeks from tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it although in a way I am. Here is to pain meds, physical therapy and ice packs!!

I am holding my best vibes for you and for success in your back surgery...I truly hope it will fix what ails you!
I'm taking a pretty small dose of the Vicodin. The pills are 500 mg., and I break them in half, giving me 250 mg. This dose seems to work without making me groggy the next day.
When I took the 500 mg. (once only!) I was sleepy the entire next day.
I feel as though I'm doing pretty well...
I echo your sentiments!
