(14,275 posts)We were going to go to a Chinese buffet but my wife and daughter snacked so much this afternoon that they don't want to go out. Which leaves plan B - nothing. Guess I have to microwave some corn or plop an egg on some rice.

(2,682 posts)and then a light dinner later.
My daughter made breakfast this morning. We had 2 quiches (spinach/bacon and broccoli/ham), sausages, bacon, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and coffee (tea for me).
For dinner, my son-in-law's mother is making baked ham, potato salad, baked beans, mac & cheese (for our vegetarian granddaughter).
We've all been nibbling cookies in between. My daughter gave me a fruit cake -- YES, I love fruit cake! It's a beautiful round one with lots and lots of candied fruit and 2 kinds of nuts on top. Delish!

Here is ours:
Crudite with chipotle hummus and spinach dip.
Salad--tossed. You're not supposed to do this on a holiday, but I did it anyway. Srirachi-ranch dressing. I was disappointed in it. I should have listened to the holiday magazines.
Turkey breast.
Cornbread with jalopenos and bacon bits in it.
White wine.
Hours of good, long conversation with fam'bly. My "little" brother is automating his entire house. Arduino. He showed me a book he has of 1800 mechanical movements, devices, and appliances.
