(54,770 posts)Loved the older stuff with Dave Davies' incredible guitar work. But, Muswell Hillbillies is probably my favorite album/CD.
Yep, would be nice to see them. Both of the brothers have come through here at different times doing solo shows in small venues -- 400 or so. Didn't make it, but I'd go to see them together.

(7,661 posts)at The Roseland Ballroom, great great show. I love everything they have done, Ray is great entertainer/lyricist and Dave is no slouch playing lead guitar. BTW my wife says that 20 Century man and of course Apeman describes me to a T.
Le Taz Hot
(22,271 posts)was a Kink's concert in Hollywood in 1973. When they started singing "Lola" the most magnificent drag queen I'd ever seen before or since literally parted the audience, walked down the center, up to the stage and Ray Davies sang directly to her. And that was the most normal thing that happened that night.

(7,661 posts)never really cared what people would think of him and often would play head games with his lyrics. Great stuff indeed.
